I found The Stables very clean and friendly. Food is excellent. Convenient for surrounding town centre and villages, great views of surrounding countryside and it is fantastic to see the manor house and stables being used and majority of the original building kept and/or renovated in similar stone to the original. We found this little gem by chance on the internet at the last minute whilst looking for somewhere to have a romantic night away from everyone. The room was located in the old Hickleton Hall and although they were fairly basic they were lovely and clean and most comfortable with a nice outlook. The grounds surrounding were superb and it was so peaceful, much nicer than staying in town. The staff were very friendly and welcoming which as a 'Yorkie' myself I can say is typical of Yorkshire people in general but more so in this village based hotel. We woke to the birds singing and then enjoyed a very scrummy help-yourself breakfast in the old stable block. C L Comment left at laterooms.com
